Lahore’s Deli Indian Takeaway - York

We booked a table for 4 people at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at the large selection on the menu and the atmosphere! The decor is very clean and modern and looks like a plush restaurant from a larger city very tasteful decor and well stocked bar. We ordered a selection from the 'specialities ' and the 'grill ' and every dish was simply brilliant. They were bursting with flavour (you can tell the meats were marinated very well and cooked just right) and the presentation was very good! We will definitely return!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The chicken tikka had a unique sweet flavor. The staff were very friendly and our food was served quickly.

I tried to place an order over phone and wanted one portion of chicken tikka starter the older guy over phone said order 2 portions as they are small so I said I will just have one. I asked him to repeat my order at he end and he mentions 2 chicken starters. I said to him I wanted one but he was trying to force me to have two portions! I said ok give me two then he then said to me why are you panicking- I was totally shocked and cancelled my order immediately! I have ordered twice before the food is not all that special. Customer service is terrible which why this place has so many bad reviews!

The food at this restaurant is amazing when they get your order right. Unfortunately, after ordering here a few times over the past few months, they have gotten our order wrong twice. As a vegetarian, it is concerning to receive chicken in my vegetarian curry and pork in another dish. It is disappointing to have to go back to the restaurant (thankfully, we live nearby) and wait for a new meal while the rest of our food gets cold. Despite the delicious paneer tikka masala, I am hesitant to return due to the recurring issue of receiving meat in my meals. Additionally, the staff is awkward and rude, which adds to the negative experience. I would advise other vegetarians to emphasize their dietary preferences and double-check their food before leaving the restaurant.

Ordered from Lahore's recently and had an extremely sweet and a poorly spiced meal that resembled little of what I had ordered. Bombay Aloo were ok as was the Pilau.
