This lovely vegetarian and vegan cafe offers a limited menu, but their smoked cheese toastie, falafel, and delicious cakes were all fantastic. The indoor seating area is small, but there is a large tent set up in the beautiful surroundings with plenty of picnic tables. There are also plenty of areas for children to explore - my son found many toads to admire during our visit.
Beautiful surroundings. Nice walk around the lake. Can't rely on Café to have vegan options. But if there's food, it's nice.
Vegan panini (vegan cheddar, tomato, herbs) and a sweet coconut curry for £6.50 Vegetarian Bree panini with crispy pound for £3.50 A previous review said there was no vegan panini, so either they heard or the menu turns (it is on tables).
I have dined at this restaurant multiple times. The selection of vegan options is a bit limited, as there are no vegan cakes available, but there is always a baked potato with hummus or a hummus wrap. Last week, the veggie chili was also vegan, although the garlic bread that accompanied it was not. The coffee is delicious and they also sell vegan chocolate bars, although they are not homemade. The cafe is typically busy, but I have never had trouble finding a seat, usually near the warm stove.
