That might be a generous rating...I want to give it a 2 but the food tastes decent...hence the 3 stars. My biggest complaint is the staff and service. I 've had several experiences with terrible wait staff. One waiter looked bored, didn 't want to be there, and didn 't want US to be there. He gave us the check 5 minutes after we received our food--and charged us for 2 extra meals we didn 't order (we were only a party of 2, so he charged us 4 meals when we ordered 2). When we brought it up to him--he swiped the check from my father 's hands, mumbled, and walked off. The restaurant had 4 other parties...so it wasn 't busy. Another wait staff was very rushed, forgetful, and impatient. We had to ask for silverware, refills, and napkins several times before we received them. We were asked 10 minutes after we received our food if we needed a box for leftovers. 2 minutes later...we were asked again, but the waiter forgot about my brother 's drink refill. The thing was there were maybe 5-6 other parties in the restaurant and 3 parties in the bar area...and they were 4 hours away from closing time so not too busy and far from closing time. One host was going to seat our family of 4 in the bar area. My mom asked if we could sit in the dining area with the other families...the host rolled his eyes and just silently led us to the dining area. My mom asked him before if the dining area was closed, or if they are closing it down soon...and he said no. It was a super awkward interaction. I 'd like to mention that we did have one good waitress during lunch (the other times we 've been here were during dinner). She wasn 't excellent but she was good--and that 's all I ask for. The good parts of the restaurant are that they have a fabulous garden salad bar. The ingredients are fresh and it 's an endless garden bar with unlimited trips. My mom LOVES their garden bar. The food is also pretty decent! They have yummy food, and a nice menu. Their hours are convenient and they are open on holidays, like Thanksgiving! TLDR; food is good, hours are good, but the wait staff and customer service are in need of help and training.
UPDATE January, 2020: I still like coming here but it's not the same as it was years ago. They have a wide menu, getting seating is usually quick plus the wait time for entrees is reasonable. However, service has become really hit or miss and the portions on entrees has reduced greatly. My best recommendation is a burger or wrap and the salad bar as a side which offers a fair amount of food at a reasonable price. Also take advantage of Happy Hour prices on drinks. Ruby Tuesdays has stayed alive and operating as many sit down non-specific quizine restaurants have closed. This means they are doing something right, and I will continue to visit as long as they do.
*DO NOT GO HERE* Horribly managed. Bad food, never cooked properly, always late. Some servers and hostesses are very nice and try their best (poor people.. , but a few are absolutely not. Witnessed an incident one night with a very racist remark from one white older female waitress to a black girl, and the black girl who was attacked was fired by mgmt on the spot and crying. Not sure if the white lady was... They don't seem to care about their employees one bit which is probably why the place sucks. Other reviews are spot on.
This place continues to go downhill I think management needs to be changed we ordered the ribs ribs be ordered beef ribs we got pork ribs I ordered the shrimp with coleslaw I got shrimp without coleslaw and the wrong type of shrimp it was the Cajun shrimp this was supposed to go order this should not have been misread. In addition they don't know how to make a **** Mary by **** Mary was tomato juice and olive and vodka
Went to lunch with co workers. Now remember I was around when they first opened over 20 years ago. Big hot wings, brown bread with every meal and sweet butter and a nice lively bar crowd. Don't see that any more. But even though it's different, the one in Hampton near the movie theater was good. Hostess at the door very friendly, had the southern fried chicken salad very good. Place clean, I would go there anytime
