You should never say that you have been in Zanzibar if you haven't tasted a food from Hassan's Karibu restaurant. We ate until we were taken back by his motorcycle .

WOW! What a great experience! Hassan is such a lovely, warm hearted host and gives his guests the feeling of being part of his family. The food cooked by his wife is great and authentic and you can not even eat as much as he offers! I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to enjoy the wonderful local Tanzanian cuisine!

Best and most authentic food in Jambiani, Zanzistar. Do not be fooled by its appearance, the food is AMAZING and so much. Great value for money. Need to pre-book so that Hassan's wife has time to prepare the food. You will be served whatever has been prepared that day but trust me, it's amazing. We went there after reading the google reviews and then kept going there for the rest of our trip. Hassan made a coconut cake especially for us, and there is so much food that you'll end up taking it home. Usually $10 per person.

I was so excited after reading all the reviews, but I found the food to be really bad. I usually dive right into local food but this was bland and served at room temperature. I would not come back. The host was nice but the juice was the only decent thing we had.
