The terrace at the front is a dream on a sunny day and...a photographer's paradise! Goulash soup is delicious, gluten free bread options much tastier than non gluten!
Our go to pitstop whilst skiing on Schmittenhohe. Positives: Very decent restaurant, looks much pricer than it is. We stopped here for food, coffee and drinks, at separate times and each of the 4 or 5 times was decent. Better prices than many other...places on the mountain. Friendly service, and patrons. We always felt welcome here. Bizarrely, perhaps because it does look more pricey than it is, everyone goes to the next door, more expensive, self service canteen rather than here! They had gluten free bread for an allergy sufferer. Negatives: One day, the bread served with my goulash was stale (not the gluten free bread) and I couldn't eat it easily. However, we forgave them, returned and had a good experience the next day.
We have booked here 12.00 for 18 people, 5 days in advance ate here, last year and twice this year, 8 adult, 5 young and 5 girls. they shared us in 3 tables next to each other that were perfect. when we sat. outside waited for order, the about 29 minutes an older couple went out to make photos and the older female manager with short hair roared then that this was not a tourist place but to eat. they were so embarrassing and it was completely unnecessary, as the place was quiet at this point. we ordered food for us and the children everything in order, eating is average, but good. At 12.40 while the children still eat, since the half of their eating did not come out at the same time, the same rude manager asked if they could take one of the childish as it was w occupied. odd that we had booked but we smiled and mooched 2 the children still over us. then she cried to the children that they screwed up their serviettes? the children had eaten with us all weekday and evening meal, no problem as the youngest 8 to 16 are. we asked her what the problem was and she called that English children are very bad time, wwf!? first we are Irish and secondly there was no single opportunity for the 40 minutes we were there. the people around us and our beautiful waitress, who knew us well and served us several times, trembled the heads and a man who was not in our group, you said she was very rude. we asked her what the problem was and she just muttered and muted to see everyone. we asked for the bill, thanked our servers who were over apologetic and always said so sad and we went. I'm angry with me that we don't ask for the owner or senior manager and ask for an apology before we paid. She has completely ruined our last day and absolutely no reason she wanted to refill the tables and throw us out. we will never go back and ski here every year.
We were told that we could not sit in the terrace, we bought an ICE cream because they need the tables for the other guests. there were 4 other guests and the favor of the room?
A typical Austrian lunch stop, while he has a great ski holiday in the middle of the worst weather in Austria and the larger alps. good value for a mountain, but even though as with others seeking a table too. family had a selection of Austrian meals and sandwiches and all reported that they fill and tasty. I stayed with beer and it was very cheap for so high a place.
