Swiss Chalet, Maeusli Adrian - Zermatt

We, a finicky of 3 adults, stayed in this hotel in Interlaken West for 3 nights. We did day trips from here to Jungfraujoch, Brienz Rothorn, Murren, Grindelwald, Wengen. Pros: Good rooms, we stayed in a family room, which had a mezzanine floor for sleeping. Great location, 5 minutes walk and 1 minute by bus from Interlaken train station. Cons: The fans provided were not sufficient with respect to the requirements, they were quite light weighted. The breakfast was just ordinary, with less choices. The croissants were dull in taste.

Wonderful little restaurant off the Main Street in Zermatt. This restaurant was recommended by the front desk at the SchlossHotel. Recommend the mixed salad and potato raclette with black truffles to start. Then herb cheese fondue and house white wine. My opinion is stay with the cheese many a failure trying to cook meat in broth or oil.

The service staff was very friendly. We had the beef fondue, and the beef was perfect!! Although the price is alittle pricey but given the quality of the food I think is quite worth it.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at Swiss Chalet. We had been traveling for several days and arrived in Zermatt, our hotel recommended we make reservations for dinner, so I did a quick search online and booked a reservation here because it happened to be close to our hotel, but because I am not used to 24 hour time, I mixed up our reservation time, and we arrived at the incorrect time for our reservation, it was certainly my mistake, but the man at the restaurant was very rude about the mix-up, first demanding that I “check my phone” when I initially said we had a reservation at 8:00. He then proceeded to ridicule me for the time mix up, even encouraging bar patrons to laugh. I have travelled to more than 15 countries around the world and have never encountered such unwelcoming behavior in a hospitality business. There are many, many other lovely, welcoming, friendly establishments in Zermatt, I would recommend visiting one of those.

Came on a family vacation from the US. We looked through many restaurants to find reasonably priced ones because we are a group of 6. This is a very decently priced restaurant and one of the best meals I’ve had any where. The filet was the best ive ever had. Service was great my dad could not read the menu and the server went out of her way to bring him glasses as well as translate. Would highly recommend.
