As locals, this is one of the restaurants we recommend to our family and friends, and is one of our favourite venues! The owner/waitress, Milar, is wonderful and always wears a smile. For good, tasty pasta dishes and very reasonable vino de casa, Capri (it is Capri NOT Caprice! Is definitely the place to visit. The menu del dia is very good value at around 10 euros. If you visit our beautiful Altea, you shouldn't miss a visit to Capri!
We have now visited Capri several times and it never fails to deliver, in terms of service, value and quality of food. My partner and I had a Menu del Dia for 9.90 euros, which consisted of: a very large mozzarella, tomato and basil salad (with bread), each; a nice portion of spaghetti with pesto, followed by ice cream; wonderful! It's a great pity, that Capri usually closes during October and re-opens a few months later. However, we will certainly be making the most of the superb hospitality and food, before this time; and look forward to when they open! Hopefully, others will be able to enjoy this restaurant, before their break.
Having dined here once, we were keen to return: so we did, a couple of nights later! This small, but perfectly formed Italian restaurant has a real honesty and cosiness about it and is situated in a prime location overlooking the sea. And although there is only one waitress, we have never had to wait that long before food arrives. My partner and I and friends have thoroughly enjoyed a variety of food at Capri. We've yet to sample the pizzas, but they're next on our list! The house white wine is very acceptable and inexpensive. The waitress is very friendly and also patient in allowing my partner and I to practice Spanish!
Initially you can be put off here by 1) the really low price of a 3 course meal for 8 euro 90 2) the plastic tables and chairs. Do come in though and be treated to a really lovely welcome from staff who care about their food and the time you share with them. I thought the portions would be really small but was pleasantly full at the end. OK the lasagne portion could have been a bit larger but it was home made and piping hot. Home made custadr at the end was delicious too. So do pay a visit as I will be back there again. ei
