Previously, they were located 300 meters down the road, in the heart of a vibrant commercial and food district, but then famously, they decided to move to the new location. The new location is actually smack in the heart of a residential area, indeed the zoning was not correct for a 2 storey, 24 hour, fast food drive through, and was even rejected by an expert panel 5-0 at the first goalposts. But McDonald's doesn't play nice, and they have very deep pockets, and are very good at lawyering up. So they did exactly that, and used their money and legal might to browbeat the state into believing that they fit the definition of a "Community Organisation", so that they could squeeze their tumor of a restaurant into a residential area... Fast forward to today, and Hungry Jack's have moved into their OLD location (because HJ's makes their money from actual FOOD SALES, rather than sub-letting the land to the franchisee), and as you can tell from the reviews, the new Franchisee in the completely stupid location in the middle of nowhere (with WAY less traffic than the old one), obviously can't manage a restaurant. The irony and schadenfreude is absolutely delicious. This is what you wanted McDonalds. Thousands of local residents opposed you, you bullied them into submission using top class lawyers, but as it turns out, your new location and franchisee are an absolute **** sandwich. I predict this location will either shut down within two years, or more likely, will be taken over and turned into a McDonald's "Corporate" location, just to save face. The latter, sadly, is the more likely option.

The new McDonalds has somehow lost all of the things it had going for it at the old location. The wait times are not in line with its business model and can become unbearable at times. The food somehow has become worse with hashbrowns often left to become soggy and burgers becoming covered by grease.
We watched the new McDonalds being built over a few months. My daughter was keen to check it out. Food same same at any Big Macs. However service was really disappointing. We were the only ones standing at the counter and 6 staff behind the counter at the drive thru totally ignored us. Each making eye contact with us but not servicing us or acknowledging us. I know it is after all McDonalds not a 5 star restaurant. But staff do need some serious training at this place.
Worst mc ive ever been too. Full of bad attitude teens and such a long wait... place is so small you can barelly wait for your order standing up. Food passable...
