The atmosphere is awesome. Loved the mai tais, and the food was fantastic. Only downside is finding the place with the Hilton. Kind of hidden.
Had the sliced pork and Hawaiian rice. Definitely, a great taste for your tastebuds. The drinks are interesting to try and got a little kick to them.. The Mai Tai was a good drink.
The vibe was awesome and the place wasn 't too busy. This made it easy to check out all the cool art. Everyone in our party loved the shared drinks and the food. And unlike some places that advertise a 'tiki ' bar, this place delivers the real deal from the people who started it all. The local peach punch cocktail was the biggest hit for us (with the barrel of Scorpion a personal close 2nd). A bit of exotica music and some grass skirts was all that was missing. I am sorry I didn 't know about this place sooner. My only ' complaint ' was some of the cooler tiki mugs were out of stock in the gift shop.
We love Trader Vic's. Party of 12 and they didn't mess up a thing. Split all our bills up correctly and everything. Our server was lovely...he's been there 18 years as has a lot of the staff (bartenders) so that is a reason we love to go. We feel if the staff stays that long...they must be treated right! And in turn they treat us right...every time! We had 3 birthday's that we were celebrating and they brought desert with a candle for each individual. Nice touch for sure. Everyone's food came out at the same time and while we constantly were adding on drinks, he didn't need to be reminded or asked twice. It's just a hidden gem and we love that it is so close to home!
