Malibu poke is the best poke in austin! my favorite dish is the red nebel scarf, edamame add. this poke is so good, I bless him and eat it almost every week, sometimes several times a week. the only reason why I don't give Malibu 5 stars is because I wish they would add a pointed line to their online ordering process. the team of mp makes amazing consistent, delicious poke and never disappointed. for that they deserve a top line. I almost never wear cash and so often I can't give the team their well-deserved happiness. that means, if this changes, and you add a sharp line to the online order, I will change my review immediately to 5 stars. many thanks mp for amazing, always- fresh, epic poke and for all their hard work!
Fish ratio seemed bad and the citrus was overwhelming, needed some soy or something. Ordering was smooth but then the self bussing station is incredibly awkward to use. You have to lean down in a high-traffic area to barely fit you bowl inside of a cabinet, then the bins for the plates is basically on the floor it’s so low. All of this LOOKS very modern and clean…but it’s ergonomically horrible. Overall, an experience of high polish on a mediocre product.
The flavors were a little all over the place and the rice a bit soggy. I felt like the portions for meat weren’t that generous I guess. man Not bad for a quick meal though
You order from a screen, which ruins the experience because it makes it clear that this operation is more akin to a vending machine the automatic tossing of specified ingredients into a receptacle than a restaurant. Everything else quality of ingredients, the music and decor, the disposition of the staff is pretty much consistent with the vending machine philosophy. Silver lining is that they surprise you with a real fork, which is a nice touch.
