We asked what their specialty is and they said the chicken, so we got the picada which brings chicken, pork belly, and a few other things. The chicken had no taste it wasn't even seasoned/salted!!! The pork belly was chewy and not well fried. We were a party of 4 and all thought the experience was underwhelming. If your experience with Colombian food is limited you might think this is good, but it isn't. I recommend trying some of the other Colombian places around.
Great new find. Good food. Chicken was a little dry but tasty. Yucas are the best. Need to work on the tostones skills a bit or had a bad day. I will try again.
Wow! This place was so delicious! Muy delicioso! The food was extremely flavorful. I highly recommend the sampler platter and the empanadas. The employee who is taking orders is also the one making the food, so be patient for the great food. It's worth the wait! This is definitely one of my new favorites in the Lakeway area. Also, he primarily speaks Spanish, so you know it's authentic.
The first time we ate here it was good but this last time it was not good. They have these flat fried yuca things that were hard as a rock, completely un-edible. The only salad or coleslaw option they had was made with all purple cabbage and tasted like pure vinegar and lemon. The beans that I had to wait an extra 15 minutes for had no spice or salt in them and they had a greenish color liquid. And chicken was not fully cooked and flavorless. We threw all of the sides away and my wife salvaged the chicken by de-boning it, cooking it longer and then making chicken egg salad sandwiches out of it. I like to see small businesses thrive so I’m hoping this review helps them improve their recipes. Great customer service!
Go earlier or when it's busy. Got there around 9pm Saturday (close at 10 pm) and got the Picada Sampler (current menu price $21.34 for 1 person and $29.94 for 2 person). Seems like most of the food had been sitting in the warmer for a while, as the chicken, chicharron, chorizo and to a lesser extent morcilla are very dried up-and taste... not that great (if you get past the very dry part). Seems like it may taste better when it's more fresh base on the prior pictures and reviews.
