The Hightower - Austin

I visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner and had a great experience. The cocktails were delicious, the food was tasty, and the service was excellent. The beef tartare tostada was especially delicious and a standout dish.

The menu at this restaurant is both awesome and creative, with terrific food quality. The chicken and waffles in particular are standout dishes. The ****** Mary bar is a fantastic addition, perfect for a Sunday brunch drink.

I had an amazing time at this restaurant with delicious food and drinks. I will definitely be returning soon!

Brussels Sprouts with peanut sauce: 5 (and I don't really care for brussels sprouts) Green beans with candied pecans: 4 Hanger steak: 5 (probably the best main entrée we had) Pork jowl: 5 (enjoyed the Asian pho style serving) Waitress: 5 (attentive and quick service) Atmosphere: 4 (the Austin hipster vibe that is kind of unique in a city that prides itself in being unique) Air Conditioning: 1 (unfortunately sweating throughout my meal wasn't exactly contributing to the overall experience) Overall food and service was great, but with the air conditioning (or lack thereof) was so bad that I can't give a 5 to a place where I had to change out my shirt afterwards for sweating throughout dinner.
