Holbeinhof - Basel

The holbeinhof serves kosher fish and vegetarian dishes. the menus change daily. the food tasted very good, the service was nice and helpful.

Very nice and high-standard kosher dairy restaurant with delicious lunch menu options. The service is good, too. The price is a bit high compared to other countries, but not compared to Switzerland.

Don't be put off this restaurant because it is situated on the ground floor of a Residential Care Home. It is very modern and clean; has a relaxed environment; is good value and serves tasty innovative food. It is completely non-meat and is also kosher. Good service with cheerful staff. We would happily eat there again.

Not much to chose from at this Milky restaurant that is based in the Jewish Old age home in Basel.Pizzas and a salads and a bit of fish.I ordered a Coke Zero and a starter that was Green asparagus sticks fried in a batter with a dollop of Guacamole and all on a plate covered in baby leaf salad. I was given a small jug of French dressing with it. The fried sticks were half warm/half frozen (but the taste was alright.) The Avocado paste was edible....but not much more than that.Portion size was good, but at 14 Swiss francs for the plate…it certainly wasn’t cheap.Next the main course: As I am still on a low Carbs diet, I left out the Pastas and Rice stuff ( and obviously the Pizza stuff as well.) I chose Big white Asparagus sticks with Grilled Salmon ( and potatoes- which I told them not to put on the dish).After about 10 minutes, I received a plate with a piece of dry and salty Salmon ( pretty small piece at that,) sitting on a huge pile of white Aparagus that had been drowned in Butter, salt and some pepper. I asked for the Bill and it was 45CHF …so including service,,,,,,,that meant 50Euro in all. I will not be going back there again
