Mother India - Bedford

This is not really a restaurant but a wonderful street food cafe. No tablecloths or cutlery (plastic spoon and fork provided) but Thali dishes with curry, dhal, roti, rice etc Food is absolutely perfect. Generous servings, as much as you can eat - and less than $20 per head. It's proper vegetarian and vegan food, and as an omnivore usually something I would avoid. However, the food was so tasty, filling and above all fresh, that you must try it, to eat in or to take away. This is a jewel - as a Brit I know a bit about a good "ruby" this is in my top 3 in Perth The owner is a charming and informative tutor, who told us what we should try, Paneers, Veggie Jalfrezi, Veg Curry, And the most amazing street food (veggie bites) Totally unexpected, absolutely welcomed. (Unlimited refills on the food to eat in. )It's going to be our go-to place for completely authentic Indian food in Perth, we were the only non-Indians there, and made to feel part of the family. A worthy 4 star !

Great food, friendly staff. The restaurant inside is basic but I don't care about that. There was Indian music playing which added to the experience. Will definitely come back even though I live nowhere near the place.

The premisses are small, basic and very limited seating (maybe 8 people on basic cafe style table and chairs) but the food makes up for it all.We have only ever eaten from the selection of pre-prepared curries in the Bane Marie (8 trays) but they will prepare other dishes for you including traditional Indian street food and desserts.We have always been served by the same gentleman who is always very welcoming.If you can't make up your mind he will offer you samples to taste.Everything on offer is vegetarian and delicious.
