The Poke shell is really amazing, along with the Hummus shell. we had different drinks, and all agree that the strawberry russian is our favorite. they also use local ingredients. woo hoo! I can't expect to come back and work my way through the menu. so many great items to choose from!
This restaurant is vegan, GF and organic. And delicious! A rare find indeed. I had the tofu musibis and macro bowl on my first visit. The next time I had the miso hummus platter. My partner had the nigiri platter on both visits. His favorite so far. It was all very good and I look forward to exploring the rest of the menu.
This place opened a couple of weeks and I have already been twice. I have loved everything that I ordered. My favorites are the spicy Jackfruit roll, Pokè bowl, and cheesecake. Yum, yum, yum! The n/a drinks are fabulous as well! They use local supplies for many of their ingredients. The space is very nice and comfortable. I had the same server both times and they were terrific. If you order online you can choose to round up and donate to a local animal sanctuary. I highly recommend this restaurant!
My partner and I were so very excited to try this place. A new all vegan spot downtown, what could be better?! We even lucked out, getting to dine there on opening night! The menu looked promising as well. While we did wait quite a while to receive water and talk to our server, that is totally understandable on opening night, and we were having a great time in the atmosphere. The chairs we were sat in were also velvet and comfy by the window. We ordered the mini tofu musubi’s as our appetizer, and ordered the poké bowl and the nigiri platter both to share. To start with, the mini tofu musubi’s were embarrassingly bad. This was a huge disappointment to us especially because I grew up in Hawaii and grew up eating musubi’s. We had such high hopes, but they sadly were a disgrace to the name. The rice was not only unseasoned, but it wasn’t sticky and tasted old and hard. The nori or seaweed wrapped around the entire musubi was also prepared with low quality, and was soggy and at times chewy. The tofu itself, simply tasted bad, but honestly worse than that was the texture was mushy. For a vegan establishment, I was truly shocked that they didn’t know any simple vegan tricks to make the tofu a more pleasing texture. We were again saddened to bite into our tiny nigiri plater and taste more bland mushy tofu trying to pass for tamago nigiri. I would recommend that they experiment with the spice Kala Namak, also known as Himalayan Black Salt, to achieve a more egg-like taste. Additionally, I really wish they would do anything other than just serve… raw cold mushy tofu. Again, the rice tasted unseasoned and old. The only redeeming part of the meal was the Zeastar tuna in the poké bowl and the nigiri platter. It was truly delicious, beautiful, and had a wonderful texture. But unfortunately, that was only thanks to the company Zeastar I would assume. I hope this place improves! I might come back in a while if they change things up! I implore them to hire a more experienced vegan chef.
I'm not a sushi person at all, never (it's the sea tang), but I really enjoyed everything we tried! There was also a mochi waffle. I made Mochi waffles myself, but I have a hard time finding it in the shops. It was nice and tasty with seasonal fruits. Try the poke afteros next time!
