This both angered me and disappointed me/surprised me. No one spoke to us regarding any sharing fee. With regard to “sharing” my child ordered a children’s meal and didn’t like the burrito he got with the #5 when he received his plate. So being the adult present I ate it bc I was not about to throw it away. We very well could have taken it to go but we chose not to do that. I had ordered Ala cart 2 tacos and we also ordered a small side of queso and sopapilla (which we did share) for desert. We were not offered Togo boxes, but instead the server reached over me to retrieve /picked up a plate with only my son’s children’s rice on the plate and I let him know to please put the plate down bc we would like to take it with us. And only then did we get a box for that and not even offered additional boxes for our nearly full cup of queso that remained. I had to ask another server additionally for a container. I chose not to address this in the restaurant bc it seemed confrontational and I saw no way around that. I’m unsure if it was me “sharing” his burrito or the desert sopapilla but I’m unhappy that we experienced this being that we didn’t set out on sharing his children’s meal and I will not apologize for not wasting food; but I was charged a fee for sharing either item is wild. The other fact is that the server chose to charge the fee and not even discuss it with us or perhaps ask which is quite poorly handled in a customer service based environment. Not happy. There’s zero place where it states this on the menu and again not one person brought this up and said there will be a fee. The server even brought two spoons for the sopapilla and we didn’t ask for 2 spoons. So I’m just at a loss for the justification as well as the lack in communication and it doubled my bill nearly by adding that fee, then on top of it, I paid with cash and he kept my change coins and brought only bills. This is no high end restaurant when was this a thing. I’m disappointed and no we won’t be back because I’m not sure if I’ll be charged $5+ extra for “sharing” or touching the others food items when visiting.
Very rude. They closed at 10:00 the first time it happened they told me and my friend we had to hurry up and order something the kitchen was closing. They made us feel very uncomfortable. I said I would never go back but I did give them a second chance. Because it was a birthday dinner 4 dear friend and there was a group of us that went. At 9:30 they cut the TV off when we were at and started flipping chairs around us. That was it for me they will never get any of my business. Obviously they don't need the business although they're open till 10:00 they don't want anybody coming in at 9:00 or after. They were sweeping mopping and hustling. Well we got out of their way we took their not so subtle hints never again .
I love this place! The food is the best you’ll find in Belmont.
Listen, hands down if you're looking for authentic Mexican food and live around the Belmont, Crmaerton, Mt. Holly area. Look no further. I personally am a self-proclaimed mexican food expert. I've tried sooooo many different options since relocating here 3 years ago. Taxco, is it. Always consistent. Authentic salsa recipes and everything in between. Wethere you're looking for tacos, burritos, mexican stews, etc. They have it and are guaranteed to leave your tastebuds jumping for joy. The atmosphere reminds you of old Mexico city, not fancy but very clean and very warm inviting staff as well.
Always great food! Reasonable prices too. Just about everything we've ever ordered has been good burritos, pollo fundido, nachos, fajitas, cheese dip, salsas the only exception I would have to say is their tamales. To me they were very bland. Wheelchair accessibility: I use a rollator/walker and have no problem getting around in there, including in their bathroom. So I feel certain that you would have no problem with a wheelchair either.
