Nonno's - Belper

The food was excellent, service was attentive, perhaps a little too much at times, we had barely started our main course were asked by 4 separate waiters if everything was ok, this needs to be toned down once would have sufficed. The restaurant was very busy the noise level was high. We actually couldn't have a conversation without having to shout over people waiters describing orders to nearby tables, due to the restaurant being open plan. Absolutely fantastic Italian restaurant in Belper. Starter was a meat platter, olives with salad and Sicilian Gnocchi with spicy sausage for main. Both courses were perfectly presented and cooked, very tasty. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Great place for a great meal. So rare to find a quality restaurant these days. A good mix of reasonably priced and more exquisite dishes. Something for everyone. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. It's 4 years since I last visited here, I was really looking forward to a return visit as I rated it 5 stars. But poor service and high prices let this place down badly now. We had a waitress who was argumentative, mediocre food for the price and no staff to request extra drinks. Must try harder. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
