Nico's Hideaway - Berkeley

Better eat than last time, a year ago. good value. service good minus a too long time after we have the main 20 minutes was longer than ideal. we will return. booths a little better than table we had, which was close to an exit door.

My family and I have loved this place since our first meal. we just went for valentine’s and something was gone. the service and some of the food we ordered were not as good as usual.

The server gave great service, the food was good but the restaurant needed a good cleaning; this made us hurry up and finish our meal.

Had no idea Nico's was even in Berkeley! The food was consistently good crispy brussels sprouts in a not overpowering garlic/balsamic glaze, freshly made rolls, delicious and large Caesar salad, tasty seared scallops with a pea risotto, New York steak perfectly cooked and delicious. We were surprised but happy. However, the prices are not low, by any means. Service started out quite good and then the server didn't come by for a long time, and forgot to ask us if we wanted dessert. Only a few choices were available and none were appealing, so we didn't, but would definitely be inclined to come again. The restaurant isn't beautiful, but it is comfortable enough (although we were chilly inside the night we were there). Try it out!

Waitress was super lovely as well as the neighborhood. Sort of underwhelmed by the quality of food, Especially given the prices.
