Vault Cafe & Restaurant - Berkeley

First place I ever ate in Oakland and it rocked my socks-- I had tomato basil soup and the chicken pesto sandwich.

I bought Penne White garlic Sauce .This was my 1st an will be my last ..

The vault is beautiful! Great decor! There is a large vault due to the fact that the building use to house a bank.

Haven't been in a long time.... Still owned by the same guy ... Service was fast with a friendly smile . Food was great . I was a little disappointed with the ham .. it was more like lunch meat and not breakfast ham . I loved that the waitress was upbeat and was very helpful and friendly . I give it a five

At first I thought I was out of luck with this menu as a vegan. I saw the veggie burger but was skeptical about whole wheat bun. Then I spotted the Tufu Scramble at bottom of the omelet section. As I read listed ingredients I became very hopeful the thin slices of tofu, mushrooms, onion, broccoli florets all had a nice caramelization on them. The homefries were delicious too. The dish had fresh ingredients and served piping hot... served with warmed tortillas as suggested by our wonderful waitress. I added a side of salsa, avocado. This was a perfect and memorable, super filling meal with the largest mimosa I had ever seen. I will definitely be back... :
