Macado’s is a western WV favorite. I've never seen another one or even heard of another macado, except in bluefield, W.Va, but I say they exist. I had not heard of it until Christ mentioned it. I have found out that they exist in west virginia, north carolina, tennessee and virginia, and the people love them. one of the main features of this restaurant is the new and it is open late. with a bar. the thing to macado is that it is a long, long menu with tons of sandwich options. What a pleasant surprise! The food here is fantastic. The service may not be top-notch, but the delicious food makes it worth it.
I have had a mix of experiences at Macado. It was always a favorite restaurant of mine during high school. I have fond memories of playing there with friends before going to the movies, having my first date with my future wife, and creating many wonderful memories during my youth. Even after leaving, I always made sure to visit at least once whenever I came back home, just for old times' sake. While the quality of the food has remained consistent (although it has had its ups and downs over the years), it is the staff that always stands out to me whenever I return. My servers have always left a lasting impression on me, no matter where I may be living at the time.
The sand is good, but the prices are too high. I have been here several times and it is a great place to socialize after shopping or meet friends for drinks. The food is good, but not amazing. I often feel that the prices are a bit too high. A sandwich and chips should not cost over $5.00 in most cases. The staff is always friendly, but they need to be careful not to get overwhelmed with orders. One time, a waiter mistakenly overcharged us for boneless wings, but the manager quickly rectified the mistake. It was also the day that our server seemed off.
