While we were at the lodge in bodega bay, we thought we would eat on the premise at drakes. without being completely specific, the room is beautiful with view of the bay, the service was average and could have been more attentive, especially since the restaurant was colonized thinly due to rain weather from the bombencyclone, eating was not inspired, but ok.
Very nice for New Year's brunch, smoked lachsei with potato were good if not great. the coffee was in order and the **** mary was not bad. the intention is what we sought and enjoyed.
We made bookings on the same day for breakfast and dinner to celebrate our 10 years ago. After sitting it took 15 minutes to ask someone what we want to drink. Before we could command, he ran off and we never saw him again. when another server took the order of the people sitting next to us (after only 5 minutes), we rose and went out. 30 minutes without service for this type of operation was appalling. we obviously canceled our dinner reservations.
Clams lacked flavor- too salty but huge serving with nice Texas toast style garlic bread. The foraged mushrooms were good. The winter squash with mole also had minimal flavor— the “mole” was more of a light broth.
