Love love love the food here. Have pretty much been through the entire indian menu now as its so much better value than the traditional menu. Can't go wrong with it.

Did not cater well for evening meal for coach party when asked about we were told it is a hotel not a resturant but we were still paying gursts

We had our exercise group's Christmas dinner at the Holiday Inn in Tong yesterday and the food was very disappointing. Complaints were coming in from all tables. Personally, I ordered soup as a starter which was tasty but lukewarm, and my main dish of lasagna was terrible. It seemed like the vegetables were overcooked from the previous day and used to make the lasagna. I couldn't eat it at all. Another member of our group also couldn't eat their meal. When we complained, we were offered a replacement dish, but then offered the same lasagna again, which we refused. This was meant to be a Christmas gift from my group, but I left without a main meal. Other complaints included cold meals, dry salmon, and chewy beef. Overall, it was a negative experience and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The manager offered free teas and coffees after our meal, but I was unhappy with how the complaints were handled. The manager mentioned they had served the same meals to other parties without complaints, making us feel like the issue was with us. Not even a single sprout in sight on people's Christmas dinners! Come on Holiday Inn, no sprouts on Christmas dinner! I rate this experience 1 out of 10, and that's only because it's a fancy hotel.

My husband and I went out for an Indian meal to celebrate the new year, and I have to say, from the moment we stepped foot through the door, the hotel and restaurant staff were exceptional. They were incredibly friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The meal itself was delicious and there was plenty of it - I couldn't finish it all so I asked for a to-go container. The price was reasonable and we will definitely be returning soon.

Visited the holiday inn for a works Christmas party. Over £60 a head; the food and food service were disappointing to say the least. Waiting for 30 mins plus after a few on the table had already been served their food. The food was disappointing and not even served with dessert. The alcohol was also substandard. Members of another company began to brawl during dinner and the staff stood and watched instead of getting hotel security. Some of the bar staff also desperately require some customer service training. She was offensively impolite and abrupt. Given the choice we wouldn't have stayed over, we would have called it a bad job and gone home! We spent £102 on the room, over £60 each on attending venue, plus our drinks. Credit it where due the room was as you would expect; basics provided and clean; we did however have a newly renovated room. Due to such an abysmal series of events during the evening we wont be going again.
