We went to this restaurant for dinner one night and we will definitely be returning. My husband originally ordered a sandwich, but after seeing a plate of fish bites and chips pass by, he quickly changed his order to that. The fish bites were delicious with a light batter and perfectly cooked fish. The hand-cut chips were not seasoned, which we appreciated. I opted for the chowder, which was thick and creamy with plenty of fish chunks and incredibly tasty. It was served with a roll, butter, and crackers. Our server was very friendly and even helped us with information about a local event by making a phone call to get updated info for us. We highly recommend this restaurant. The total cost of the meal, without drinks, was under $20!
We usually eat at the White Gull, but it was near to noon and we wanted an all day breakfast place. The diner was clean with a mixed decor that included some fine photos. Breakfast was not possible, so we settled for the seafood chowder lunch, which was good and inexpensive. I was served coffee right away, but had to go looking for milk. Our server was pleasant, but did not seem to have had any training for the job.
My husband and I visited this restaurant on August 2, 2016 while on a scenic tour of Nova Scotia's South Shore. We decided to stop in Lockeport to visit Crescent Beach and grab some lunch. I ordered a grilled cheese with fries and gravy, while my husband had a burger with fries. Both meals were reasonably priced and the portions were generous. The food was really tasty. The restaurant has a classic diner atmosphere - nothing fancy, very casual and friendly. We enjoyed our time at the beach and plan to return to Lockeport next year. If we do, we will definitely be stopping by the Town & Country Diner again.
My husband and I stopped at the Town and Country Diner on August 2, 2016. We were doing a little mini tour of the South Shore of Nova Scotia and this looked like a good local place to eat.It is not fancy, it is a diner after all, but the food was great!I had a grilled cheese and fries, hubby had the burger and fries. Portions were excellent and everything tasted great.Great choice to stop in for lunch. We are hoping to return to this area next year and rent a cabin. The area is beautiful. If we do, the Town and Country will see us again!
