I waited for 25 minutes at this restaurant while the waiter was preoccupied with one customer, completely ignoring me. The service rating is 1 out of 5.
I ordered the chicken gyro on a pita. The chicken was tasty, but it didn't seem like it was cooked on a rotating spit. It tasted more like halal chicken over rice. The salad bar had fresh ingredients and a variety of toppings. The portion size was generous for the $7 price of the pita and $1 for a coke. However, the pita bread fell apart and was not as expected. The restaurant gets an extra star for being bike-friendly, serving large portions, and having fresh salads. Overall, it's a better choice than the nearby McDonald's.
Gyro King in NYC offers one of the fastest, freshest, and most affordable meals in the city. The diverse clientele is a testament to the deliciousness of their chicken gyro meals. Located in a strip of locally-ethnic shops, Gyro King stands out for its quick service and flavorful dishes. The $10 dinner option has been a game-changer for this reviewer, providing a satisfying meal right in their neighborhood.
I know Gyro King, located on Coney Island Ave, in Brooklyn for ages, since 2006 at least. They used to be located on a corner of Foster Ave. and Coney Island Ave. Now, they’ve moved a couple of blocks up, expanding the space, keeping the quality of their food. Hope to see them on main island soon. I have just called and ordered my Chicken Tikka tonight, $11.99 only 05/25/2023 , so that when I walked in to pick up my order there were the same good old friends working up there. They treat you as a friend. They remember your choice and they make an outstanding halal food. The only place that I know that is opened 24 hours, 7 days a week, which is important to me rolling on the same schedule as TLC driver. These guys take no breaks, no stepping on brakes ? serving the community. God Bless you! Cheers!
