Salad was tasty. Pizza was fine but unremarkable, in my opinion e.g., prosciutto was so thickly sliced as to border on cold cut ham . Our server attended to us as though we were a bother to her leisurely fraternizing with friends or other servers ? at the bar area--hospitality skills were lacking. The hostess was quite lovely and accommodating to our needs. But overall, the experience just did not measure up to competing similar priced restaurants in the Brooklyn pizzariasphere--try Graziella's or Barboncino, Il Porto or Parkside for comparison, all far superior in my opinion.
We were in for the weekend and booked a reservation for Shelter Pizza. After driving to it and looking for parking, we walked to the restaurant and it was CLOSED!! I do not know if the food and service is good or not. I can tell you that Management is not very good and don't keep hours updated to prevent people from wasting their time deiving to a closed restaurant.
The service was great and everything we ordered was delicious. The place is decorated so beautifully and the music was great.
Shelter is one of my favorite places in Williamsburg. The staff is amazing, the food is great, the atmosphere is spot on- and been such a great place to go during all of Covid- we have eaten outdoors in the coldest weather and could not have been happier. Will keep coming back as long as it remains this good!!
