We never have to choose from a menu, as they serve up a new and delicious vegan combination plate each time. With plenty of free parking and easy access off the Deerfoot, it's a convenient spot to visit.
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I felt judged. Despite there being only two other people in the restaurant, the staff did not give me a menu. Instead, they informed me that they were serving South African food and that everything was spicy. I mentioned that I was excited to try Ethiopian cuisine, but they clarified that it was actually a Filipino restaurant across the street. Confused and frustrated, I quickly left as there seemed to be no opportunity to try the food. Overall, I would not recommend this place unless you are Black as I felt unwelcome and misunderstood during my brief visit.
This restaurant is a hidden gem that may not be easy to find at first. The staff is extremely friendly and the chef is talented. We never have to order as they bring out a delicious vegan combination plate each time. The food is always tasty and there are plenty of free parking spots available. It is conveniently located right off Deerfoot Trail, making it easy to access.
I felt judged as soon as I got in. when they approached me (there were only 2 more pages in the restaurant btw), they did not give me a menu, but told me that they were "very South African food and that everything was spicy." I said that was good that I was finally in an Ethiopian restaurant. when I had not gone, they said that there was a “Filipino restaurant over the street”. daaaa fckkkk? there was no chance to try this place. unless they are black, they do not come here.
