My partner and I went to dinner at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday and we have to say that we are very inexpressible. we ordered both a vegetable-bogen box, made of tempura vegetables, potato cake, seaweed salad, a gurkensushi, unfavorable cooked...tofu and a little serving soba nudels and sushi rice. I've eaten Japanese for years, and that's the worst I had. the bentoboxes were clearly not freshly produced and displayed horribly. the sushi was undoubtedly old, the portion of sushi rice and tofu was underboiled, tempura vegetables and potato cake were terrible and the soba noodles had a strange fish taste. if all that the small portion of the soultangsalat was decent. Despite other criticuses, the staff were very friendly and competent, so I give them credit. we do not come back here again, but we recommend to kagawa in dickson for delicious Japanese cuisine!
We came over this restaurant when we first arrived in canberra because it is location where we were. there are a whole lot of restaurants in this district and we found ourselves drawn to this place, as we all love the things of the village. we decided to sit in the outside sitting area where all the dazzling hot plates are located. my first impression calls me again today (even if I write this review a month after our culinary experience). the chairs are not particularly comfortable and the tables all have the obligatory wobble, which is as much as it is annoying, they can also treat. what I cannot accept is that most of the foreign tables are encrusted with bird species. it is absolutely frightening and must be fixed immediately. in the night in question, we had the pleasure of throwing only the wobble table and a view over the menu. there is a lot to choose and options to create your own. we must have chosen very wisely (while we have read some other reviews), as our meals were well cooked and what we expected. the portion size was also quite generous and very favorable. the service was definitiw a farewell, with a long wait between our entree and main; and the waitress ask to delete the table twenty minutes after the conclusion of our meal, is something I did not have to do for a very long time. I had to ask several times for a bottle of water for the table, and I swear that she rolled my eyes on the eyes to disturb them. I must stress that I have worked both in retail and in the hospitality industry that I have really tried to be polite and cheerful when communicating with other private and hospitality workers, as I know that it is getting from surly or aggressive behavior, so that I can assure them in this case that it was a problem that was not a problem for me". So, I'm a touch with this restaurant. the meal was delicious and cheap, but the service and cleanliness was terrible. In view of the fact that there are so many other restaurants in this area, the question is: would I eat here again? probably not.
Not sure why it is listed as aasia sizzle bento seems only sizzle bento could not try to get it in time on travel advisors at this opportunity to get a quick dinner before the nye fireworks. obviously quite busy on nye and the food lasted 30-40 minutes to arrive. the drinks take almost so long hard to understand. the adjacent table gave up on one of their meal times. the aged ashi tofu was cold and the sauce was completely unpalatable. other meal times were not much better to identify hard what was in the sushi rolls. I thought that I would be grateful not to get sick. canberra has a similar system for food safety assessment as nsw? on the bright side, the employees were friendly and apologetic. fortunately we were all in order, but had a very bad sleep and eating was probably a contributor factor.
Have been here before two years ago and recommended it to friends. we had reserved a table to be on the safe side as it was new years eve. it was 6pm and not busy, less than half full. When we arrived no one greeted...us for ages until we went up to the counter. We got our seats and waited for others to arrive. Menus and drink orders arrived quickly, then when we ordered food it all started to go wrong. First of all they brought the food minus the rice, despite us clarifying we had ordered it. We gave them 5 mins in case it was just late but it turned out it had been forgotten. Once we managed to desperately get the attention of the wait staff (who weren't wearing a uniform therefore we had to guess who were staff) they brought the rice out with no sorry, or no realisation that it was their fault. The rest of the food was cold having been served ten minutes ago. we told them this and they offered more rice for some reason. Next issue was half way through cooking our korean BBQ ourselves (for those of you who don't know how this works the food is cooked on a bbq plate at the table by the customer) one of the staff members switched the gas off without explanation, meaning we couldn't cook the rest of our food. This meant another wait for them to fix this problem. On top of the staff issues they decided to clear some of the plates when we were still eating a big no no in my opinion. When we complained at the end they offered us free rice 12) off a $120 bill. Not really good enough. Wont be returning, and I'd advise management to ensure their staff have at least a basic grip on the English language if they want to succeed in the city centre of an Australian city
