Overpriced and underwhelming! 3 out of 5 of us ordered the seafood pasta, which was a disappointment. Firstly, the serving side would have just passed for being an entree. It was TINY. The seafood was scarce and poor quality, it could be likened to a frozen bag of mixed seafood you would get from the supermarket. At $42 a serve, it was insulting. Do not recommend! Love this place while staying at the resort with my young family. Kids can run around outside or in the games room while parents relax. The pizzas are very nice and have that Neapolitan style chewy crust. The fish of the day was good and the antipasto platter is delicious. The St Andrews lager is a great beer also. We booked to go to Mantellinas yesterday 11th of December to surprise my mum and dad who were there for a big get together with the family. We ordered the seafood spaghetti which cost $42. Five people ordered the same. I received mine and it was cold. I requested they heat it up. The meal was so small and all I got were 3 prawns. The meal wouldn't even have filled a young child to be honest. When I spoke to the manager, he came back to me stating that I had taken the calamari out and put it separatey on a plate. Why would I have done that? After speaking with the other family members they all said it was so small, and had only 2 to 3 prawns and no other seafood. Honestly, the meal was terrible and there was no taste to the seafood spaghetti. It's the worst Italian meal I have ever eaten. It was so dissapointing, especially as it was my mums big birthday and also their 49th anniversary. We got two meals taken off the bill, but seriously regardless of the others having vouchers, as they all stayed there. I would NEVER go there . Worst Italian Restaurant. Review: RACV Mantellina Cape Schanck. Saturday, Nov 18th 6 pm Service. 1/2 Our family had a wonderful weekend away at Cape Schanck, with one disappointing experience at Mantellina Restaurant (RACv). We were excited and really looking forward to the Saturday night excellent dining experience for a party of six, but the restaurant fell short of expectations. Food issues: The burnt fish, which looked like a sparse portion, cleverly masked with green leaves, left us underwhelmed. A hard chewy crumbed schnitzel, thickly cut fennel (unappetising salad) and clumpy spaghetti (seafood spaghetti) further added to the disappointment. However, amidst these culinary letdowns, the vegetarian pizza faired well, just a little soggy. While the kitchen encountered issues during our visit, the attentive service from the servers, particularly from manager Jeremy, salvaged the evening. Jeremy promptly addressed our concerns, waiving the charge for the two servings of the $52 whole fish special. Though we had hoped for a complimentary replacement meal. Still, the overall service of the FOH staff was good. So unfortunate that the quality presentation deviated from the expected standard for an RACV restaurant, especially during our mother's birthday celebration. The FOH staff acknowledged kitchen challenges, re lack of staff (Saturday evening), providing some context to the lapses. This experience prompts caution for us, re future visits to an RACV restaurant, hoping that they address and overcome their current kitchen issues, especially at Mantellina RACV. Enjoyed some cocktails while we waited for our room to be ready. The view from the balcony over the golf course was magic. The armchairs were comfy and the martinis were a fabulous start to our getaway. We didn't order food as we weren't hungry, but I did see some tempting looking hamburgers being carried out by the waiter.
