Cuopperia Lo Sparviero - Castellabate

Ottima materia prima, ma esperienza deludente. Potrebbe essere stato il momento sbagliato per fermarsi e mangiare, ma è stato l'unico ristorante aperto in città la sera la domenica di Carnevale. Dopo averci seduti e ordinato un drink (acqua e due bicchieri di vino), abbiamo cercato di ordinare il cibo, ma quasi tutti i piatti che volevamo non potevano essere fatti come gli ingredienti mancavano (secondo loro avevano finito tutto a pranzo) , né primi né secondi, niente. L'unica cosa che era fattibile erano panini. Abbiamo quindi ordinato due panini, uno con salmone e l'altro con gamberi tempura. Niente da lamentarsi del pesce che era molto buono, ma il pane era inedibile, duro e asciutto come non so cosa, tanto che non poteva nemmeno essere tagliato con un coltello. E 'stato super imbarazzante mangiarlo mentre ci guardavano e ridendo di noi per quanto sporco stavamo ottenendo mentre cercando di mangiarlo. L'ultimo colpo è arrivato con il conto finale... noi due abbiamo speso 55 € Se prima del disegno di legge sarei tornato a dare loro un'altra possibilità, dopo di che hanno perso tutta la speranza.

They welcomed us with a montanarina of ricotta, sauce and anchovies. We ordered a tagliatelle with red mullet, black olives and cherry tomatoes and a seafood risotto. The risotto was delicious and abundant, while the tagliatella had a slightly too delicate flavor... the dish lacked a bit of character. For the second course, however, the tuna was cooked well and very tasty. The waiters were kind and attentive. The place is very nice, we ate outside so it overlooks the sea. The flaw though... the bill... €77.00, a little too expensive for three dishes and a bottle of water.

Food and wine were exellent, and the service was mainly adequate, but they totally neglected our table reservation. I visited the restaurant a few hours beforehand and booked a table on the terrace for 9 people at lunch time. I saw how my booking was written down in a calendar, but when we came at the designated time, the terrace was full, and we had to wait for half an hour in chilly wind until the waiters could fix a table for us. No apologies whatsoever. Why take reservations in the first place if you can't/won't fulfill them?
