This restaurant is located towards the middle of the airport so you can easily reach any terminal quickly from this spot. While sitting at the bar there was plenty of space and outlets to use my computer and the bartender was attentive and made sure to get our food out to us quickly so we could make our connection. The food was delicious and the pour of our wine was heavy handed which is always a nice plus! We will definitely return the next time we have a layover in Charlotte.
Pizza was horrible. Was just stale bread and cheese with no sauce. Two slices were just bread. The table beside me had the same experience and after mentioning it to the server, they comped the meal. But was too late to get more food before our flight as it takes forever to order and be served. It shouldn't have been served to begin with.
The food was pretty good quality, I had the Philly which came on ciabatta which was odd but still good flavor and fries were decent as well. The service though kind was very slow and if you have a quickish layover I would not recommend sitting down here. I was just one person and it took almost an hour and a half for the entire process. Near the aviary and a good place to hangout and enjoy a part of the airport that is light and airy.
We recently dined at 1897 Market with high hopes for a decent airport meal, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant and the service was satisfactory, the quality of the food was disappointingly subpar. I ordered several dishes from the menu, but almost every item fell short of expectations. The food was not only bland and lacking in flavor, but it was also poorly executed, with some dishes bordering on being almost inedible. I was particularly disappointed by the Caesar salad, which lacked freshness and flavor, and the salmon, which appeared to be spoiled. In addition to the disappointing food, I found that the table was sticky, which detracted from the overall dining experience. Furthermore, it was challenging to get the bill, as it seemed that the staff was understaffed or overwhelmed. While I appreciate the efforts of the staff and the ambiance of the restaurant, I cannot overlook the significant shortcomings in the quality of the food and the overall experience. I hope that the management takes this feedback into consideration and works to improve the consistency and execution of their menu offerings, as well as the cleanliness and efficiency of their service.
My child and I stopped by 1897 Market for a quick lunch en route to Memphis. The host wasn't at the desk and it was confusing were to go to be seated. We were seated promptly by the host after figuring out where the host stand was. Our server was efficient in taking our order. Opting for cheese pizza and BBQ shrimp and grits, I requested an extra side of shrimp due to the small portion. The initial shrimps were lacking, only six tiny pieces smh lol. I enjoyed a tasty lemon drop with Belvedere vodka. The fresh, flavorful pizza arrived hot, while the shrimp and grits exceeded expectations in taste and portion size. The cozy seating area was comfortable, though the temperature was chilly, typical for an airport setting.
