The Black Dog is one of the West Countries true gems. Located at the bottom of the infamous and picturesque Cheddar Gorge. On entering I was greeted not only by friendly bar staff, but an array of charming locals all talking about cobbles, beers and rewinding motors of all things. The food was to die for and was extremely good value. I thought I'd died and gone to Saloon Bar heaven. Would highly recommend.
WVisnited Cheddar for the day. Went into this bar for a drunk. Very friendly Service and good prices. The food menu looked great but we didn't eat on this occasion. Nice music and videos playing very relaxed atmosphere . Love the saloon and cowboy themed decor throughout.
As a day visitor to ****, I was determined to find a meal and drinks for our group of five. We were welcomed by a friendly bar employee who took our food and drink orders efficiently. The staff member engaged with us warmly until our meals arrived in a surprisingly short time. The food was among the best meals we’ve ever shared as a family, including our older children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal! I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share our experience based on today’s fantastic food and excellent service. Highly recommended!
This is a fantastic pub located at the lower edge of the ****. They offer a lovely selection of local cider and an extensive array of gin and tonics. The food is excellent, and they serve roasts on Sundays and Wednesdays. You can also enjoy pool, darts, and other classic pub games here.
