Also the person who shuck the oyster did a very bad bad job. We had so much shell in the oysters. I felt like the little sides they have was like from an old fish camp. Slaw tasted old…. The side items was put in a plastic sauce container. The service was not good. No one checked on you and everyone was right there, but too busy to see if you need anything or even give you a look so we can ask for a fork or sauce. They automatically put 20% tip on your tap….. I was still going to tip decent in cash because I work for tips too. I don’t recommend or plan to go back.
I can always count on Full Moon for a pretty consistent experience. The service and food are both consistently good. We arrived on a Friday evening. The restaurant was busy, but we were still able to be seated immediately. I started with the crab bisque. It was thicker than I remembered and very good! The complimentary potatoes were very good as well. I'm not really a fan of the complimentary coleslaw. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels like it is missing something. Next, I ordered the house salad. It wasn't as beautiful or plentiful as their house salad used to be. The star of the show was definitely the oysters, as it should be! They were large and tasty!!! I enjoyed mine chargrilled. My husband had his raw. We were both very happy. We also learned that the colder months are the best time to enjoy oysters.
Our server Dennis was one of those dream servers. He was friendly, helpful and gave excellent service. He was very attentive. We had a party of about 20 people and he kept up with us all. The tip was already added to the bill, but we added even more to the tip because he was that good. Food was great. Everything came out exactly as ordered, quickly. hot and delicious. Several pepole orderd the Full Moon. It included pretty much all the seafood options you could want. It will cost you about $62.00 (current market price), but worth every penny because of the sheer amount of food that you get. The drinks were perfection. Loved the Tropical Moon. Highly recommend you get one if you like your drinks on the fruity side. If you need a bit stronger, try a Hawaiian Long Island. If you love seafood, you'll love it here. Also serve steaks and a chicken.
We were super excited to try this place so we placed a take out order. Unfortunately we did not ask for the order to be repeated while on the phone. Upon arriving home, we noticed that we did not get the Crab dip but we got the Crab Bisque (I can’t even find it on the online menu). Also, the seafood Mornay barely had any meat. I want to think this was just a bad experience and I hope they are not getting away by giving people food with barely any meat… 3 shrimps and 2 scallops. All kind of tasted like it was frozen and re-heated.
Ok, so we had more than a **** Mary! This place AND staff are nothing short of amazing!! We had The Full Moon, stuffed mushrooms, Oysters Rockefeller and crab cakes. OMG!! The sides were Cole slaw (like Moms and Grandmas) and yummy potatoes! The food was absolutely delicious!! And only 7 minutes from my home!! Yes!! We will definitely be back!! Dominique, our server was absolutely the BEST!! Great attitude, personality and the kindest smile Can’t wait til we see you again soon!
