The restaurant has a fantastic location with a lovely outdoor deck that is perfect for meeting up with friends after a game of golf. The service was excellent, but the meals lacked a bit of excitement. They were better than average, but not outstanding. The Chicken Penne was decent, however, the chicken was slightly dry and lacking in flavor.
We had a great time at the restaurant! We loved the cod slider special and the calamari. The New York striploin and seafood linguini were also delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our dining experience.
Now we simply say: “It has not shown well how we hoped “ There were 8 of us and we sat next to a very loud group of players who had just finished a game. I was happy for them that they had a great time, but at our table we could hear nothing but them. Family could not hear the person next to them and we have no hearing impairment. I asked if we could move and they were very accommodating. We sat in a quiet place. Thank you. We ordered our dinner and two bottles of wine. It took 20 minutes to come and when it did, the waitress seemed uncertain how to go over the service. She went back to the bar to open the bottles, I guess she didn't know that wine should be opened at the table. When she came back about 10 minutes later, she had only one!! She explained that the white was gone and that was the last of this kind? So I ordered another white and it took 15 minutes. Still open it at the bar, not at the table. So I tried and said it was different than I expected and would accept it. I just wanted to wait some wine after 40 minutes. So I asked my husband to try, and he said it was definitely out. He went back to the bar and brought me a glass of another wine that was great. After all that came our meal. Fish and chips were some preformed frozen fish and the crab cakes were the same. The crab cakes were deep fried (yellow). And served as a slider (not say anything about it on the menu??? There was no composement of my wine. Didn't expect it. But that could have been a good idea for all Shenanigans. I expected a much better experience in rogues. If that's how rogues are everywhere, we'll never set foot in one. I didn't expect a pub dinner in the dining room of a narrow golf course. Too bad that there are not so many fantastic restaurants in the Tri City area. Sure there are some great, but Coquitlam really needs more possibilities.
I was there with a group of five girls for lunch, and we sat on the terrace which was really pleasant, but a little cool. We were surprised that a patio heater wasn’t available to take off the chill, but our waitress did bring us...blankets which we appreciated. . I ordered the Jambalaya Rice Bowl and it was probably one of the worst dishes I’ve ever had . . . anywhere. I was expecting a traditional jambalaya with the ingredients mixed together so the flavours can meld and develop. In this dish the tomato sauce with sausage, prawn and chicken was ladled on top of the saffron rice. The tomato sauce was very heavy on the tomato and if there was sauasage in the dish, I missed it. The chicken was stringy and dry, but the prawns were nice. I really found the flavour to be lacking and I was disappointed that the $18 dish fell so short on quality. I have given this visit 3 stars because our wait staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
