Cimbalinos - COTTESLOE

Went here on Australia Day, wasn't to busy, got a seat quite easily.I ordered the bircher muesli with a watermelon and mint juice and my partner ordered the BBQ Beef Eggs Hollandaise with a caramel milkshake. Our food came relatively quick seeing with was a public holiday, food was presented perfectly and tasted absolutely delicious. Service was great would definitely go here for breakfast again!

This cafe is tucked away at the garden end of the small shopping mall which is dominated mated by IGA.It has a pleasant garden al fresco dining area in addition to indoor.But the service on July 26th at 2pm was disastrous. Dominated by the buxom young woman with the loud voice who calls everyone "Darling" then "Darl", one waits to place an order at the counter while she converses with an equably voluble acquaintance.The polite young man making the coffees minds his own business." I've bad news for you darling" was her reply to my ordering pancakes then up a decibel or two, , " Kitchen closes at 1-30."Needing to assuage my hunger I plunged on to order an unnamed pattie in the display case and a coffee with milk on the side."May I have tomato sauce with the pattie?"" Sure thing Darl."I chose an al fresco table and the coffee came with the offer of an empty second cup so I could vary the amount of milk therein."Thank you"I waited and waited then the tasty pattie was served without the tomato sauce and the empty water glass was not filled, but snatched away without comment. Not even another Darl!More waiting- OK I'll get up and go in for tomato sauce." It's there" says the coffee making man." I didn't realise this was self serve". says I They took no notice as the Darl lady was engaged in deep conversation with a lady acquaintance at the counter.Fortune favours the Brave however and I enjoyed my pattie and the coffee was as ordered and a spare cup was offered.I was left to ponder the inadequacies of Australian hospitality service in this Cottesloe beachside area , where cafes and restaurants abound, most with good service." Bye Darl "I'm outside in the mall now but the voice is heard above the considerable clattering of dishes.

I remember when the line up was out of the door. The coffee and food are still great but somehow the crowd have moved on. Van's on the corner is crazy busy. It might be the service, still perfectly acceptable, it might be fashion. I would recommend some kind of refresh may be in order.

On weekends you have to line up to order and scramble to find a seat - but it's worth if for the excellent coffee and super tasty breakky's

Have a coffe there every morning in Enex 100 and can't fault them! Must try the banana bread it is amazing.
