Contribuisci feedbackIt is awful to penalize loyal customers with a parking ticket for patronizing their business. We believed we had a valid reason to dispute the fine since we utilized multiple facilities on the premises and spent a significant amount of money at the restaurant. However, our appeal was instantly denied. As others have mentioned, this seems to be a deceptive practice.
I was surprised to receive a letter from UKPS charging me a £100 fine for supposedly not following the parking rules at Wing Yip Croydon car park a few days ago. The letter lacked details and after researching online, I found that many others were also unfairly fined for parking. The signage, if there even was one, was not clear. I have never had issues with parking there in the past. Like other reviewers, I spent a significant amount shopping and dining at Wing Yip that day. It is frustrating that customers are expected to rush through their activities. The lack of information about parking time limits on the letter or the Wing Yip website is concerning. I echo the sentiments of other reviewers and regret not reading their feedback before visiting. Contacting Wing Yip management seems futile as they are seemingly taking advantage of customers. This experience has deterred me from returning to Wing Yip, whether for shopping, dining at Tai Tung restaurant, or visiting the bakery. It appears to be a scheme to exploit customers. I urge others to avoid Wing Yip and support smaller Asian shops instead. Similar products can be found at these shops or in regular supermarkets.
Average food, with a rip off parking scam included! Whatever your meal costs, don't whatever you do linger for more than two hours or God forbid shop as well. You will get a parking charge from the operators.
We had a lovely dinner with my family. The restaurant service is the normal the food was good. We had the relax and fun night with the family. What will they know is while we were spending time in the place the parking where we left our cars was charging us £60 because we spend more than 90 minutes in that place. I call the restaurant to try to see if they could wave the charge. They said nothing. They could do nothing they couldn’t help . I explained where you were your customers. We spent £500 in food we spend time in your restaurant and we do know that we were spending too long with you. They don’t care about anything . Spoke with Shop, rubbish no customer service skills whatsoever has to do with the shop , call the shop customer service was rubbish. The man said the parking is nothing to do with them is a company who looks after the parking, so I had to talk to them . And I ask I’m sorry but how come I spend time in spending money in your place any someone else’s I have to do with the phone why are you not looking after your customers the customer who spent a lot of money . Never mind, it has a shopping centre that you can go and shop for food. You have the cafe that you can go. Have some snacks .. apparently you only can do the space of two hours which is strange . My husband Aunty, who had paid the bill. Contacted the company to explain we went and we spend money , we were genuine customers. They didn’t know that we only allowed 90 minutes because we’ve been customers from this place for decades never happened. We all spend. I don’t know how many hours spent there. it is really sad to feel like this place tone to a robbery that should be relaxing with family became a stealing point because it was not just my car was fine. The people from our time I got fine and the restaurant and the shop don’t care I think Slowly Slowly people will stop going to this restaurant and it will close because no one will want to be fined £60 Every time they go there and spend two hours in the restaurant .
I took my family of 4 to Wing Yip Croydon and parked our car in disabled bay there with blue badge displayed. We bought some buns at the bakery and queued for a Dim Sum meal at the Tai Tung restaurant, which had a slow service. By the time we received the bill we had already parked over 2 hours. We then shopped at Wing Yip which took another hour. As we left the Wing Yip we bought some bubble teas at Purcha. After loading the car we left. A few days later I received a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) from UKPS demanding £100... WHAT?! They claimed that there were clear signs stating a maximum stay of 2 HOURS and that I had parked for 3 hours 26 minutes. To be honest, I had not noticed the signs but what if I had? We had spent £99 in the restaurant and £123 in Wing Yip. In no other shop car park have I ever been made to pay after I showed my receipts. I appealed on the UKPS website stating that I had been a genuine customer of 4 shops on site. They replied that they believed I was a genuine customer but that I still had to pay their charge. I thought about contacting Wing Yip but their own website states that the car park is managed by an external company and has nothing to do with them—disgraceful shame on them! This is an outright extortion racket! BEWARE!
