Only one of us would come shower/nap while the other was at the hospital so didn’t spend a lot of time in the room but when there, the bed was comfortable and the lights were good. Has a fridge which is helpful. Since it’s too hot to run outside in Atlanta, the gym was nice to have as a back up. It had weights, cardio and a machine. The room was quiet. Parking is in an underground garage attached to the hotel. Be aware of the spaces, they are narrow and have pillars that make navigation challenging. Someone hit my rental car in the lot and didn’t leave their information. Parking is $10/d. Lots of food within walking distance. Only 2.5mi from Emory Hospital. Thankful to Quentin who was helpful as we had to keep extending our stay.
My family held a family reunion at this Courtyard hotel July 7-9. The hotel staff and event service were incredibly awesome! First, the hotel itself is in an excellent location for visitors to the Atlanta area, because the hotel is in the heart of Decatur with plenty of walkability to shops and restaurants. Next, the hotel is very nicely appointed with a great lobby with bar for mixing and mingling and excellent conference facilities. The rooms also were very nice with refrigerators and microwaves. The thing that sets this hotel in the awesome category is the great staff! Patrick and all of the event staff were just wonderful to work with! They made us feel so welcome, and always went above and beyond to provide the best event possible. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning an event in the Atlanta area. From check-in to check-out, the bar, the event space, all of it was great! Kudos to the manager of the property and the event manager for running a great hotel property.
Although this is a small lobby restaurant in the Marriott, don't look past their signature Cherry Old Fashioned wow! A class A cocktail and a wonderful bartender who made them just right ! Ordered Chimichurri steak and there seems to be a difference of opinion on medium rare (mine was bright red even after sending back but the service (by same named awesome bartender was wonderful and truly made our experience the best i only wish I would have asked her name for this review ! Within all the small restaurants and hotels in this area, we were pleasantly surprised ! We had a great time.
The interior facing design is bizarre. The windows face the lobby, why would I want that? Felt like I was in a casino in the worst way. Hated not getting any sunlight. So loud I couldn’t sleep. Every noise echos. Sticky floor and not super clean rooms. I tried putting the fan on the air conditioner on to block out the noise but it only lets you do auto which clicks on and off all night which also keeps you up. They disabled letting you just keep it on. Great location at least but I wouldn’t stay here again because of the noise.
I stayed here for one night while visiting a friend. I was so disappointed with my stay! The room was dirty hair and dirt in the sink and shower, a piece of dirt on the bed, and debris on the floor in the bedroom and bathroom. Worst of all, the toilet was clogged. I know this would have been fixed if I notified the front desk, but I didn’t know it was broken until 12:30 AM and as a solo female traveler, I didn’t feel comfortable having someone come fix it then. It was also definitely clogged before I got there. This was super stressful and inconvenient. I had an outward facing room (not facing the courtyard/lobby) but the hallway was still relatively noisy up until I fell asleep sometime after 2:00 AM. The pros: location, nice lobby, and the front desk woman who checked me in. I’ve stayed at many Marriott locations and this one was very disappointing. I thought I might come back here next month for another event but I’ll be finding something else.
