I'm genuinely saddened to share that Monarchs restaurant closed its doors about six months ago. Before the closure, I reached out to Magic Wings to inquire about the reason behind the decision to shut down Monarchs. The gentleman I spoke with mentioned it was primarily due to a significant decline in business and difficulties in finding reliable staff. This is truly a sad loss for western Massachusetts. Monarchs will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. Thank you for the wonderful meals and cherished memories.
What a surprise! We were going to check out the butterflies, but wanted a bite first. We weren't expecting much, especially after being seated in the dated, slightly dingy dining room, but the friendly server more than made up for the atmosphere. We had a cup of clam chowder and we split a lobster roll. The lobster roll was really just a TON of lobster meat, barely dressed with mayo and zero filler! The server said since it was close to closing time, she told the cook to get rid of the lobster on our sandwich! It came with a side of excellent potato salad. The server gave us two important tips; potential traffic delays on our way to the airport in Hartford, and that McDonald's serves a lobster roll in their northeastern restaurants!
Stopped by with my son to eat lunch. Asked male server a couple of questions about menu... I wish I had not...very impatient...couldn't wait to get back to his tv. I felt like he would spit in my food had I asked him another question. Place wasn't busy, we were the only people to take the order from and another family was already leaving
Very disappointed in this place. We stopped here the day before Mother 's Day for a nice family outing with mom. We were greeted by a man who I 'm guessing is the manager saying you guys are killing me it was only 4 of us and we hadn 't asked for anything special. He warned us service would be slow because of a rush of diners. Throughout our entire meal he would greet more people at the door with a prompt you 're going to have to wait and every time the phone rang to make an assumed Mother 's Day reservation, he would huff and puff and tell the callers that they were completely booked, and then complain as soon as he got off the phone again. Our waitress Leah was very nice and did the best she could as she was the only one, no problems from her. Everyone 's food came out good but because of this managers (or whatever he was) lack of actual management skills and how uncomfortable it was to watch, we won 't be back
