M Tempura - Durham

Last night, my friend and I had a fantastic dining experience at M Tempura. We opted for the traditional style tasting menu and were blown away. We enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes, all made with fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. The tempura items were a highlight, as well as the fresh salmon crudo. The dessert, ginger ice cream, was a perfect way to end the meal. The only downside was that there was almost too much food! The staff were friendly and attentive, and we never had to wait long for anything. I highly recommend M Tempura for a special occasion.

To make matters worse, both my fiance and I suffered from stomach aches later that evening and the following day. Additionally, the lack of authentic Asian, Chinese, or Japanese chefs in the kitchen was disappointing. Instead, we were greeted by a group of college kids who seemed inexperienced in the culinary arts. I will be sharing photos of our meals at M Tempura and M Sushi to highlight the vast difference in quality, presentation, and taste. Until significant changes are made at M Tempura, I will not be returning and cannot recommend it to others. In my opinion, even Chinese take-out would have been a better option.

Our server Tiki and the master chef were wonderful in providing a special Kaiseki experience. We felt so lucky to be able to sit at the bar, enjoy such good food, presented in such a beautiful manner. Left full but not miserable, can't wait to go back. Thanks ya'll!

Fantastic omakase menu, some of the best selected seafood and expertly served!

First time, and will go back time and again. The food was amazing, KiKi, our waitress was outstanding as well. She was attentive, her presentation of the courses was excellent, great vibe. Overall, I wish we found this place earlier, although we have been to M Sushi a few times. Highly recommend!
