Cafe Modern Two - Edinburgh

Unfortunately, we had a completely horrific time. I had booked what I thought was a head afternoon tea for a special afternoon tea for my mother birthday. I had called a few days before to update the nutritional requirements and spoke to a helpful worker who confirmed my booking and said that there was no clam on the afternoon tee. at the arrival we were greeted by a surly coworker who showed us a small grubby table, which is wedged in the corner between large loud family groups. I went up to ask about the afternoon to say that they did not do it and had stopped months ago. I have explained that it is available to book and I had booked it as a special contract for my mother. the girl contested this, but I said I even spoke to someone and had confirmed it. they said they could possibly put something together, but mining went by and everything she had done was a few big pieces of inconspicuous left cake on a teller. that was not what we expected or wanted to pay for it, so we left. with the rugby who comes out there, we had no intention of getting something elsewhere, so we went to m and s and bought afternoon tea deliveries. I am still incredibly upset and disappointed at the special occasion I had planned, which was completely ruined by grotesque incompetence.

I visited the cafe last week. it was nice to be back. service and eating were good. on my return, however, I realized that I was overloaded. I tried to follow this, but without answer. very disappointed.

It is worth coming to the café. modern has more choice of food and has outside seats that are great in summer, but it can be quite full. here the table service was fast without waiting. the yummy gray cake was incredible. very unique and delicious. the hot chocolate of my wife was also good and it has decent coffee.

Venison broth was tasty but venison was hard to detect. Lots of barley though. Could have been hotter. Overpriced.
