Monboddo - Edinburgh

Another nice meal. It was quiet for a Saturday afternoon but that was quite nice as we had a good chat. The food was good and so was the wine. It is a bit more relaxing than eating in the main hotel restaurant but offers many of the same food items on the menu.

I visited on Wednesday morning for a quick coffee and breakfast before a very full day of work. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing and our waitress was so accommodating and friendly. The food wasn't especially exciting but I only had scrambled eggs on toast so that might be why. Thanks.

We went specially for brunch as seen on the open table app but if was not available and had not been at the advertised time or with the advertised menu apparently for months So although the serving staff asked the chef to accommodate us they refused So my son had fish and chips for breakfast and I had a very small 3 egg omelette so disappointing

I booked Monboddo for a birthday treat for 2 friends and we had a great experience. The afternoon tea is delicious and fresh and there was plenty of tea and coffee on offer alongside it. They brought out a little plate with happy birthday written on it in chocolate for the 2 of them which was a nice touch. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Have been before and would go again.

Stuck in a previous era- menu badly needs updating could do with some healthy options. At least the staff are nice!
