Double Mac - Eilean Siar

I visited a fish and chip shop where, although I had been permitted entry before with an exemption lanyard, the owner this time demanded that I wear a mask. He stressed that even though I was exempt, he could still potentially contract covid from me. I found this strange as there was a sizable plastic screen separating me from the staff, none of whom were wearing masks. I had to retreat to my car to put on the mask, which caused me to hyperventilate. Additionally, the food was not up to par.

This is one of the best fish and chip shops in the world. I have tried many in my lifetime and this one always stands out for its freshness, generous portions, and friendly service. If you are ever on South Uist, be sure not to miss it.

The food at this restaurant is amazing, with a great selection of choices. The owner, Winston, is excellent. I especially liked the fish supper and Jamaican chicken dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great fish and chips, they do have other options which looked tasty but we went for the classic. It doesn’t look amazing from outside however the quality of the food was excellent, the fish so fresh batter crispy and chips great too. Sauce is free self service! Great meal for when visiting Uists!

The chips here are fantastic. Ask about their jerk chicken!! Highly recommend. Staff very friendly. The fish is very fresh. We ordered on a Friday eve and it was very busy, expect to wait but it’s worth it! We waited around 20 mins for ours (it was a big order)
