I enjoyed the cuisse de canard and my wife the tuna streak. The only critique we had were the portions that were very generous for us. the second visit to try the pizza was just as good, nice cooked and my wife said it was one of the best she had. highly recommended.
Last reviewed this in september 2017 and with 10 friends on a busy Friday evening this week we had a great night out. although they were completely packed, they still found space for two late in our group and the reception and service were both...warm and friendly. a modest delay in the service, as the place is completely full, has not caused any problems for us and the gesture of a free rosenkaraff was as welcome as unexpected. a wide menu choice supplements the extensive pizza offers that we always seem to decide and are consistently delicious. with countless karaffes of wein have worked out our meals on 35 euro per couple, which was a 2 euro drinking money per couple and was excellent. we will return!
It's been 3 years since we were here last time and the pizza was really good. Yesterday there are some changes, new owners and plastered decoration, a new cook and a re-vamped menu with honest good food as well as the extensive pizza...menu though in the mood for pizza the special menu looked seriously tempting. pizzas, as it turned out, were just as good as before, good and generous as ever. the service was excellent and the place on Friday evening with close tables. great to see villages like these flowering. we're safe back.
New owners laurence and loys have recently reopened this restaurant after a full refund. they serve a good selection of pizzas and other bistro dishes. very good price and delicious. best to reserve a table if you want to sit on the terrace....In the middle of a very pretty village with views of the church and mairie. l’escale is very popular with locals for aperitifs and dinners. we visited during the passage through canal boat and would definitely recommend.
Petit restaurant. On a dîné en terrasse après réservation le 14 Août au soir. Personnel très sympathique et à l'écoute. Menu réduit , produits frais ,viande excellente. Une très bonne soirée dans un village plein de charme.
