Acorn Community Cafe was fantastic. We went for a late lunch while in town, and it’s everything a vegan restaurant should be and more. They have an entirely vegan menu with a selection of coffees and desserts. I had a coffee, fresh chocolate chip cookie, and biscuits and mushroom gravy. While the entree was a bit too mushroomy for me, that’s more so a result of personal taste than quality of food. There were other great looking options like pancakes and a breakfast hash which I would be excited to try if I’m ever in town again! I also loved the aesthetic of the place and the great outdoor seating surrounded by plants and nice lighting. Super cozy! Not to mention, they have cool community initiatives like free menstrual products and diaper products. This place is fantastic in so many ways and worthy of the praise it receives! My favorite thing on the menu is the banana pancakes!!
Knowledgeable and professional furloughed repurposed in life wait staff serve a higher purpose for your dining experience which is higher than Eugene area average while paying it forward to Eugene’s unsheltered community through their community pantry and free meal plate.
This whole place is neat. They have a great set up to help people in need with a pantry of food and hygeine products in the bathroom. Seasonal Vegetable Bowl which was so good and had leeks, fancy mushrooms, pickled onion, carrot, Brussels and more. The Breakfast Hash had plenty of sauerkraut and mustard. The blueberry muffin was fresh and delicious. The outdoor seating is shaded but they have heaters.
