We used to share some of the entrees but now they are only enough for one. High quality food and a nice and quiet atmosphere make this a nice place for date night.
We weren't that impressed on our last visit to Mekala's Thai restaurant. It was not busy at all, but the service was super slow. No offer to fill our water, etc. The food was bland and just thrown onto the plate. We used to have really nice romantic dinners here, but I can't even imagine that now.
The appetizer was spring rolls filled only with cabbage and noodles. They had no flavor and a gummy texture. The fried rice tasted like it was hastily prepared, with an overwhelming saltiness. As for the curried chicken, it wasn’t even cooked in the sauce; the potatoes were simply boiled and added with no flavor whatsoever. I eat Thai food regularly, and this was the worst I’ve ever had. I would recommend Kuraya's in Springfield instead. The prices are lower, the selection is better, and the food is more authentic.
Fresh and distinctive, this restaurant is situated near the University of Oregon. It offers a quiet and romantic atmosphere, perfect for a date night. I had the Panang Curry, which is rumored to contain secret ingredients, and I absolutely loved it!
I began visiting this restaurant during last football season, and it has since become a staple on every trip to Eugene. The food is excellent, the desserts are amazing, and the prices are reasonable. Truly top-notch Thai cuisine!
