We got mixed vegetables (Quash medley), baked potatoes, mushrooms and frits. The menu said wrinkles. They were, but very run of the mill and were not roasted to a crunch, but flimsy and soggy. The Pommes were the only thing we didn't like. We're gonna go back and just don't order pommes. The service and the atmosphere were pleasant.
If you are looking for a place that still brings passion and love into their food, then you must come to the filling station. The owners are with this family business the hands and that is where the difference is. I'm looking forward to coming here, and I wasn't disappointed. Support local small businesses and bring your family to Filling Station for some great Southern food. Oh, save a room for the desert. Rear begins with the desert and saves some space to eat.
The food was excellent! I wish we were still living in Mississippi, as we would eat regularly there. Thanks for a great meal. Debbie Aitken in Chattanooga TN.
I'll tell you when we eat and plan the next time we get back, it's good. We started with the royal reds, my favorite shrimps! Royal reds are less dense than normal shrimps when they are fresh, the meat goes down like butter, it melted in my mouth. It is simply cooked and slightly seasoned, it is natural aroma is enough, there is not much spice required. The Traubeye was 14oz and it came with two sides of your choice for $23. The sailor, spices and cook was PERFECT, in any case was cooked by someone who knows her steak, and for $23?! That's a steal! The man said this steak was better than two high-end $70 steaks for which we paid in Jackson (not to mention where). I think we found our new steak in Flowood, it's gonna be hard to beat. Even the fries were good! Piping hot and crispy, and I don't even care about crumbling frits. Next, the crisp cakes were, it was $24 with 2 pages. It was literally 90% crabs (see pictures). Of course with less bread, it does not hold together, and a little damper than those with more fillers that are expected. I would recommend having it browned. It came with bread, I made little crabcake sandwiches with it, it was so good! The man said this is one of his favorite cakes to this day. I love crabcakes, but I couldn't focus on it because my focus has shifted to the steak of his haha Finally we ended the night with banana cheesecake pudding! What a great turn on a classic! We sat fast, food came fast, fresh and hot. Our server malory was attentive, personal and so sweet! She knew the menu well and could answer all our questions. This restaurant is a pretty good size, they expand, would be good for large groups. I'll be back for the steak and the royal red, he'll be back for everything that was on our table hahaha.
Delicious crab cakes. But tea is too sweet. Friendly, helpful servers.Good music and atmosphere.UPDATE! Now closed for good !
