Sumalee - Glen Eira

I came here because of the reviews and was not disappointed. Prices are average for the dishes (not as dear as I expected) and the servings were generous! In my group of 7, we ordered pretty much the whole menu, and the only thing left over was the pad Thai because it was huge. Everything tasted great and I would highly recommend trying this place. Staff are very attentive and nice. Recommend booking in advance.

Ate here for a friend's birthday as she has taken a liking for coconut rice! After searching for a local Thai restaurant with good reviews, I came across Sumalee. Definitely will be my 'go to' restaurant for Thai from now on. The presentation really impressed me and a number of dishes went past me that I would love to go back and try. My beef graprow had just the right amount of spice and the espresso dessert was delicious. The restaurant is quite small so the tables are close, but you don't care when you're enjoying the food and company so much. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Consistently great food, need to book these days as the secret is out, good variety of foods, very tasty, excellent service.

From outside, Sumalee doesn't look anything special but once you enter and the aromas hit you, you know you are in for a treat! This little restaurant has limited seating so it is essential to book - the staff actually ring you a couple of hours before your arrival just to confirm that you will be turning up. The decor is nice while the ambience is cosy and inviting. It was spotlessly clean.The waitresses were very efficient, pleasant and friendly. The array of entrees on offer was enticing and it was a hard choice but we went with the lamb puffs and the ocean bags. Both dishes were delicious - the lamb puffs with sweet potato were not highly spiced and the ocean bags were lovely prawn spring rolls. I also had the Tom Kha soup with chicken which was top notch - the broth was so flavoursome and the vegetables very fresh.Our mains arrived without delay and not only was the food beautifully plated, there was plenty of it! The pad thai was draped with a webbing made of scrambled egg which I have never seen done before. The dish was tasty but unfortunately, there wasn't much tofu to be found. The Grilled Chicken was delightful - perfectly cooked with an unusual spiced apple salad while the lamb massaman was tender and full of flavour. We had no room for dessert sadly but we left Sumalee with smiles. Their customer service is second to none, their prices are quite reasonable and the menu offers interesting choices. Highly recommended!

The food is so delicious. This is now my new favorite Thai restaurant. The presentation is amazing, so imaginative.
