My first thought was, Everything in this damn town is so overpriced, I bet this is a $15 buffet. If it 's more than that I 'm not going to be happy. I should have asked. It was $20/person. Guess who wasn 't happy? I have had complimentary continentals that were better than this. The food tasted like it came right out of the package from Sysco or Gordon 's. While there was variety (fruit, yogurt, bacon, eggs, sausage, French toast, and cereal), it was the same stuff you would get for free at any other hotel that offered a complimentary continental breakfast. My advice is for travelers to buy some breakfast items from a town FAR OUTSIDE TUSAYAN or be prepared to spend $20/person on what should be a free breakfast. You 're here to see the Grand Canyon, so they have you by the balls. UPDATE: I am at a Best Western in Cortez, CO as I write this. They have an almost identical breakfast. Instead of French toast, they have waffles and instead of both bacon and sausage they have just sausage. The price? $0.
Finally got breakfast in this area and wish I hadn't. A few hours after having the buffet at the Canyon Room and I'm stuck on the toilet for the rest of the day. Scrambled eggs were hard on top, country gravy had a thick layer on top, but bacon seemed fresh cooked and hot. Sausage was the standard patty you find everywhere. Coffee was good. Bottom line, it's the only thing I ate today and my stomach is messed up.
Located inside Best Western premiere..varied menu with typical diner food Solucitous friendly fast
Bad service usually doesn't bother me but it did today so here I am leaving my first bad review. We waited 30 min to eat, which is ok considering how busy they are. The girl at the register was rude and dismissive. We were finally seated and a server rushed us on our order. When our orders came, they were wrong. He mixed our orders and just stood there. We had to take items off of each other's plates. The hash browns were burnt. The green chiles on my omelette tasted bad. The woman that comes with the coffee asked me if I wanted more coffee, I said no. She then gave me a blank stare and said that we weren't going to be charged for it. She said this to us in Spanish so I am not sure if she thought we were cheap. I didn't want more coffee because I simply did not like it. The food, the service and everything was bad. I would much rather wait in line at the local Starbucks and get better coffee, food and service than eat here again.
The pancakes where crispy when they should be soft and fluffy. Check the menu as Ala cart is cheaper. Would I return no. As I asked the desk clerk where she would eat and she recommended this place I wonder about what she considered good food?
