The Stirling Arms Hotel - Guildford

Came in for Sunday lunch and ordered the Chicken Parmigana, which took ages to arrive, was borderline cold and very underwhelming- it was clear that it hadn't been prepared fresh. Kids had fish and chips which was better (at least it was hot). If I came back, I'd probably get the roast (which looked better) but won't be going back in a hurry.

Good pub! Nice to sit in the beer garden for a sunny Sunday lunch with a glass of wine. Not a great selection of beers on tap but I don't suppose everywhere can serve craft beer! We had the chicken parmijiana and steak for lunch, using the entertainment card which made it excellent value. The chicken parmijiana didn't come with ham which was great for me as that's what I really dislike about parmis! The chips were really good and the side salad was nice. The steak wad cooked well and the pepper sauce was super peppery - yum! Friendly service, didn't have to wait too long for our meals which was great. The facilities could do with a bit more care - one of the women's toilets was missing a seat! Not great! But apart from that, I enjoyed our lunch stop here. lifelovetravelfood.wordpress.com

Good value as pub classics count as main meals with the entertainment book. Friendly staff. The chicken paramagana and bruschetta that we had were both very good. Would recommend as a place to get good quality food at a reasonable price.

Would not recommend this place!!! Steak was completely over cooked and over priced for what was bought out! Guinness pie was chewy and lacked that great Guinness flavour along with the pastry being served as a puffed up, square piece of rock. Service was pleasant and chips were good.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! It should be shut down this Restaurant ...... The 1.0 rating is for the excellent customer service from the 1 Staff member rostered on, only positive! Understaffed with only 1 Staff member rostered on with being ran ragged to be Wait Staff, Bartender & not have the Bottle Shop never unattended. ROBOTS CAN NOT WORK THESE MIRACLES EVEN !!! Meals were overcooked, overpriced & portion sizes were so small that my partner & I left still hungry from our lunch. We are not big Eaters either! Also my review on Facebook is now nowhere to be found on Facebook anymore.
