I went to this restaurant for lunch with a friend and a few young children. They have a spacious children's area and a very laid-back atmosphere. We ordered a mushroom toastie and dahl, which were both delicious and generously portioned. We also had some pastries and coffee. The woman who prepared and served our food was lovely, especially with the kids, making our visit easier. As a tourist in London, I was disappointed by the customer service at most places we visited, but this cafe was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
This restaurant is eco-conscious and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I appreciate the digital stamps and the small touches throughout the restaurant, like the books and plants. The atmosphere feels cozy and homely. I highly recommend it. Scarlett.
We bought two cakes one Chelsea bun and one cinnamon and the cinnamon one was completely stale. The other one was fresh and delicious but couldn’t eat the cinnamon one. Very expensive at £3 each to take away.
TDLR: bad vibes, after-work-drinks-at-a-cheap-bar-level music (but very tasty coffee). I went for another coffee at the Yellow Warbler this afternoon, after a really bad experience with the rather rude female barista a couple of weeks back. I wrote the weirdly dismissive service off as the barista just having a bad day, so I decided to give the place another go, as it always smells delicious when you walk past. Alas, I should've learned from my first experience. The same dark-haired barista was working this time and she was, again, giving a very hostile attitude to anyone trying to talk with her, to then go on to say some quite mean things about several customers after they had left. Lovely! The French girl working with her seemed friendly, but that didn’t really make up for my mate basically being sneered at when asking a basic question about what was on offer. I have sympathy for café jobs sometimes being really tiring but I don’t get the need to be so rude and condescending for no reason, especially not to customers who are legitimately just trying to have a casual chat. Another noticeable drawback was that the music was so loud it was impossible to hold a normal conversation in the room, despite the café being rather empty. Does the café perhaps think it’s Heaven at 4am? Zero chill. It’s a shame, because the coffees and toasties I've tried here have all been delicious. It’s just a place you don’t want to hang out in for a long time, because it feels very likely the staff will first be rude to you, ignore you and/or then talk about you behind your back as you leave. 1/10.
