Beefeater Halifax Town Centre

I visited this restaurant during my stay at the nearby Premier Inn. The breakfast was fantastic, but I was disappointed with the new dinner menu. I tried the Meatball Arrabbiata, and it reminded me of the soggy spaghetti I used to eat from a can as a child—the texture was just the same. The meatballs lacked any real texture as well. It might be fine for standard offerings like steaks, burgers, and pies, but I wouldn’t recommend the pasta dishes. Additionally, the portion sizes were quite small.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this restaurant. I didn't expect the food to be great since it's part of a chain, but it turned out to be truly excellent. While the service was a bit slow, the quality of the food definitely made up for it!

Today at 1 PM, my wife and I visited the restaurant to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. I ordered a mixed grill, which was quite disappointing, and my wife had the steak Diane. We both started with the same appetizer, a prawn cocktail, but since leaving, my wife has developed an upset stomach and is feeling unwell. The steak Diane is the only dish she had that I did not. The service we received was also lackluster. Unfortunately, we won't be returning or recommending this place to friends or family. It's a shame because when it first opened, the service and food were exceptional.

My partner and I dined here tonight for a special meal, and it was wonderful! The steak was cooked to perfection, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We will definitely be coming back!
